The replacement axle gears are now fitted and we have also fitted the 5/16" rear brake rods and connectors. We note that as the expanders are located from turning, whereas the yokes on the equaliser are on spherical joints it is possible for the threads in the hexagonal connecting piece to turn slightly, unless lock nuts are fitted at both ends, instead of only at one end as supplied. We have therefore done this and recommend that the drawings be modified accordingly. The faulty rear axle pinion and bearings have been despatched to-day for your examination. We have kept the crown wheel as it is just possible it might help us out in the event of the present gears packing up. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M.
