87960 To Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/MJ.11.5.32. Replying to Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}32/KW.10.5.32. 16-G4. car could not be used as a Trials car as it has a J.1 engine and is fitted with two carburetters. This car also has the old type radiator and bonnet. We have had a letter from the driver with R.{Sir Henry Royce} and he expects to arrive in England on Monday the 16th.inst. He will have to call at West WitteringHenry Royce's home town, which means the car may be here on the 18th. (the day we start work after the holiday). The gearbox in 20-G4. is one of the original type which is obsolete and therefore will have to be replaced. Our intention is to hand 20-G4. over to the Repair Dept., as we do other experimental cars when we have finished with them, and they will take on the work of preparing that car suitable for a Trials Car.
