-2- 9th June, 1937. I have received from Mr. Bogg this morning your arrangement of the Auto-locking damper. At first sight there are two snags - (a) there is a large air lock immediately above the valve, which can be overcome by drilling a hole through the top of the locking member. (b) I think the locking member should be in a bush. We found that these locking members very soon seized in aluminium bores. We do not require the leak adjustment to 472-Z, as we shall give a leak by raising the valve off its seat with a washer. Yours faithfully, For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
