STANDARDISATION of CHASSIS PARTS.

Description of Parts: FABRIC COUPLINGS WITH PLATES RIVETTED ON INSTEAD OF SCREWS AND FERRULES.
Origin: To improve the life of the coupling.

Experimental Test Report: We have had a number of failures on the screws and ferrules on all. Our rig tests show 50% improvement in life if the riveting is carried out properly.

Road Test Report: We have had three or four 10,000 mile tests on rivetted couplings. 23-EX 5,000 miles reports coupling in good condition.

Box A (Marked with 'X'): Scrap and replace at all costs, including Chassis already delivered to Customers.
Box B: Scrap and replace on Chassis in Works.
Box C: Scrap present stock and replace on all Chassis not yet handed to test.
Box D: Use existing stock Alteration effective on future Chassis.
