To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Ve. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}7/JH. 12th. August, 1940. British Power Boat Co. Hythe, Southampton. re Gun Mountings. Dear Sirs, When we saw your representative on the Range at Eastney Portsmouth last week, we promised to inform you as soon as possible the diameter of the bolt circle at the base of our proposed mountings. We have reached some preliminary conclusions. Our proposal is a 33" diameter bolt circle with 24 5/8 diameter bolts, the width of the base flange will be approximately 4" with an outside diameter of 34 1/2. We would be glad therefore if you would give us your views on such a mounting fixing. Yours faithfully, H.I.F. Evernden, Chief of Design, Gun Installation Section for Rolls-Royce Ltd. | ||
