Prior to leaving for my vacation at Zurs I thought it would be better for you to know that in all probability Rose will have to come back to France for an official enquiry into the Phantom III accident.

I am merely mentioning this, as should you contemplate taking any sanctions against him, the fact of him having to return to France, may alter your mode of procedure.

Incidentally, the latest information from our lawyer is that our driver's responsibility is but very slight in this affair.

I have had some very interesting tests carried out at the Works of the Marchal headlamp firm with the Lucas lights fitted to the car in question, as compared with Marchal lamps.

A report on this will be sent to you by Waller, who has been requested by me to go into the question with the Marchal engineers.

You probably already know that my brakes are simply marvellous with the 30° servo lever, the only snag being the crackling when braking.

Sr.
