We have tightened up the bearings of this car and fitted RR.56 liners to the mains and big ends.

Please find attached our "Report upon sinkage of bearings and alteration of liners".

The main bearings were found to be scored due to foreign matter. The big end bearings were OK.

We found the meain bearings to be scored not due to any overheating or lack of oil, but most probably due to foreign matter having found its way into the oil circulation.

We carried out an oil test after effecting the above work. The oil test was satisfactory.
