Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/T16/DJ16420, surely the fitting of rear shock absorbers to Lord Rocksavage's car was carried out as a matter of policy. The omission of rear shock absorbers on the 1st. series cars is not a fault of design in the accepted sense of the word, and the fitting of them therefore should not be charged R.D.D. If it were decided that all cars which have been built must be fitted with shock absorbers then it might at the same time be decided that the fitting of them should be charged R.D.D., but until this is the case it does not appear correct to put the charge to that account.
