Dear Sirs,
Special Cover Discs
Following Mr. Sharp's and the writer's visit on the 7th, we are, as requested, putting in hand a further five wire wheels and preparing six tubes with valves of the type indicated to you.
It may be that on the experimental tubes we can use a valve which will be suitable for a 1/2" diameter hole and will have a metal base - and not a rubber base.
The advantage of this former fitment would be that the valve could be locked in position in the rim, thus ensuring its correct location in the slot in the disc.
We regret that the position has not yet developed sufficiently far to enable us to give our final views on this matter, but we hope to have some further information to pass to you during the course of the week.
Yours faithfully,
For DUNLOP RUBBER CO., LTD.
