Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.
Nightingale Road,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr. Edwards.

With reference to your order No. 17574 covering two Smith Air Conditioners, which we understand you require for test purposes, we are enclosing a drawing of this unit and would inform you that for the sake of cheapness we have been forced to employ a film block radiator which we know only too well to be less efficient that its equivalent of the flattened tube design.

You no doubt fully appreciate the position and the difficulty in regard to price when handling a product of this nature, and we should very much have preferred that this unit was equipped with the alternative and more efficient type radiator, but feel sure you will bear in mind our remarks when judging the results.

Incidentally, we could make up for you two Air Conditioners with the more efficient radiator, but this would necessitate making special cases and we should need about four weeks in which to complete the work.

Yours faithfully,
For S. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LIMITED.
