JD{J. Draper - Frames}52. The Nuts are of brass, & the links of copper, lead coated, & provided this is done properly, & well covered with Pure Vaseline, not grease as this contains impurities, corrosion should not take place at all. A certain amount of ventilation is available through the handle slots * now these are probably to be lengthened will be slightly better in this respect. It should also be noted when the battery was mounted on the running board in the wooden box no ventilation was provided at all, & with less space between the top of the battery & the underside of the lid{A. J. Lidsey}, no or very little trouble was experienced from corrosion. G.J. | ||
