X.7535. BATTERIES ON PHANTOM II CHASSIS.

With reference to PN{Mr Northey}1/WT28.1.30. with attached note ref. FBS{F. Bell-Scott}2/RK25.1.30. this matter of slight corrosion has had our attention, and improvements have, as a result, been made on P & R batteries to which we think the cases apply. We should however, be pleased to have FBS{F. Bell-Scott}'s impression as to whether his remarks refer mainly to P & R batteries or whether the complaint is equally concerned with those of the Exide type. After receiving his opinion we shall be in a better position to inform you more in detail the nature of the steps which have been taken to minimise this.
