-2- wrapping front brakes. The stroke on the brake pedal was 5½" to 6". When the brakes were put on hard, the pedal went right down to the floorboards - even with that pressure it was impossible to skid the wheels on a dry road. The rate of retardation did not appear any greater than with efficient two-wheel brakes. The engine was reasonably quiet - the carburetter made considerable noise also there were numerous rattles from the engine gears and auxiliary drives when running light. The car was fitted with single magneto ignition. The gear ratio on top speed was 4.7 to 1 the same as the RR. 20 HP. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
