Dear Sirs,

Reverting to your letter of the 6th. inst. we now hear from our Works at Kingston-on-Thames that in their opinion the material that has been used with the varnished silk you sent us for examination is tin-foil.

Our Works are of the opinion that aluminium foil would be much more desirable, and they are sending you samples of aluminium foil with both varnished paper and varnished silk, and we should very much like you to give us your views quite frankly upon the material.

We have made one reel up with varnished paper as an experiment, but we reserve our judgment upon its value for the work.

Our Mr. Symons, who has just returned from a visit to America is giving this matter his personal attention and asks us to say that several ideas have occurred to him in regard to the whole question. He will, therefore, probably take an early opportunity of calling to see you in regard to the matter.

Yours faithfully,

H.D. SYMONS & CO. LTD.
