To Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}1/N.24.11.38. Bentley Rear Axle. ------------------ I would be much obliged if you would enquire whether the latest thrust race was fitted to B.40.MR. rear axle nose piece. The reason being the car has only run 199 miles and it has come in with a bad oil leak from the nose. The bearing taken out had no preloading and had allowed the pinion to drop causing the acme thread to foul the housing. I will send the bearing up if you wish to see it.
