Referring to your memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}11/N.20.10.38, I have examined the pinion removed from the above chassis and believe the cause of the damage to the tooth is due to some loose metal part i.e. a split pin or bit of wire, having been trapped in the gears.
