Complaints that the clutch engagement is not smooth and is accompanied by a rattle in the transmission can be cured by alterations in the gearbox to N.Sch.4095, instructed to production in By/ROD.8/E.30.8.34. Depots can be sure that the trouble is due to chattering of the synchromesh core member against the cam by the fact that the rattle is obtainable on 2nd gear but never on 3rd or top.
