| S/W...Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E By H Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} Rattles on Engaging Bentley Clutch. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}20/KW12.10.34 I am very interested to note that you now have a cure for this trouble, which is certainly one of the three 'Worst Features' on the Bentley. I note you say that from correspondence you have had with H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} in regard to Sir Stanley White's car you gather it is thought desirable to avoid fitting this cure owing to the expense. This is not the case. If you will refer to H's memo. on the matter you will see that he says by all means let us fit it, and to any other complaints we may have. What he did say was that we did not want to broadcast it because many people have not complained. I quite agree, however that whenever we get this complaint from a customer we must use this modification of the synchro-mesh mechanism to cure it. Will you please, therefore, arrange for these instructions to be conveyed to the Depots. C. | ||
