B.80 No.2 UNIT. - Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}

Available for trial are:-

(a) R.R. Harmonic damper with loose inertia rings.

(b) Studebaker damper with various hardness of rubbers and friction settings.

(c) Slack cam wheel to obtain information of how much damping effect the timing gears have on the crankshaft and camshaft oscillations.

No.2 TEST HOUSE.

B.II No.4 UNIT.

Continue tests as per previous memo on oil consumption and "blow by" etc. on Aerolite pistons fitted with Hepworth and Grandage rings until a stable figure is obtained.

Repeat the tests with a new set of Aerolite EB.2844 pistons (obsolete type).

Rings should be :-

Top....... E.60820
2nd. Ring.. L section E.61123.
Scrapers... EB.3122.

On completion of the above tests, the bed to be converted to Phantom for testing of E.R.Hall's unit, Ph.III No.8.
