RE. PHANTOM COMPLAINTS.

Last November we received a report from Sales giving a list of the customers complaints on New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I cars. We have now received a further list (Hr8/PD2. 3.26) showing the complaints received from customers from Nov.1st. 1925 to Mar.1st. 1926.

Over-oiling. 52 15 The nos. of the 15 chassis complaints all shew that they were some of the early cars.
Noisy tappets. 2 5
Clutch jaggers. 13 7
Clutch not stopping. 2 Nil
Exhaust noisy. 7 3 The improved silencer is now standardised.
Popping in silencer. 8 8
Exh. butterfly squeak-ing. 6 6
Steering wobbles. 5 Nil
Road shocks on steering. 2 1 New steering standardised.
Timing gears noisy. 3 2
Battery ignition points burning. 5 4 Improved battery head has recently been standardised.
Springing. 14 2
Governor control sticking. 4 6 Cars complained of had not the improved control.
Poor acceleration. 2 Nil.
Front wheel brake grab. 6 2
Brake squeaks. 4 1
