DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} C. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X8580 BY/Cghl/G.4.1.28. EAC.14. TOOL BOX ON STEP. With reference to EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}3/30.12.27. received on the 2nd inst. in which you again requested that we should wire you in regard to the position of the step bracket, we wish to point out that your DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EVL/M22.12.27. requesting for this information in the first place, was received on the 2nd inst.also. However, we wired you yesterday pointing out that the step bracket in the middle position should be placed at a distance of 45.100" from the rear of the dash. We send you herewith print of F.78276 from which it will be seen that if this step bracket is placed at 49.5" as called for in your memo it would foul the bolt heads of the brake equalising shaft, and that in order to clear the clip on the road spring the bracket should be moved further forward to the position shown.
