RE TOOL BOX STEPS . E.A.C. 14.

We learn from "DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}" that the centre step-iron can be 49 ins. from the dash. It will, therefore, be .500ins. forward of the position called for on our drawing.

Since we have got well on with the boxes, it would be best if we were to move the other step-irons forward by the same amount so that the boxes remain the same as shewn on our drawing. We believe that that can be done, but would be glad if you could confirm it by wire.

We suggest that, as the tool boxes will not be made to jig, we should only drill holes for the centre step-iron in the frame side member now, those for the forward and aft step-irons being marked off with the box in position. If the step-irons had been on the dummy chassis, this expedient would not become necessary. It, therefore, only applies to the bodies which we have in hand.
