re CHASSIS WEIGHTS - 3½ LITRE BENTLEY
--------------------------------------

Replying to the penultimate paragraph
of LE4/C/13.10.33

Chassis weights as taken at the Works when first despatched prior to fitting bodies on the 15 chassis were between 2227 and 2232 lbs. (average 2229).

This weight included water, oil, 4 wheels and tyres, but did not include petrol (126 lbs)., battery - P.& R.{Sir Henry Royce}(72 lbs) or spare wheel and tyre (56 lbs).

The addition of these items would bring the weight up to 2483 lbs., or - 22 cwt. 0 qrs. 19 lbs.

This does not include spares and tools.

The above is all the information we have. It is probable that the modifications made when the cars were returned to the Works would alter the chassis weights, but as the bodies were then fitted we did not have an opportunity of re-weighing as chassis.
