1086 August 17th 1937 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.8/AP. Messrs Leonard Williams & Co.Ltd., Great West Road, Brentford, MIDDLESEX Dear Sirs, Packard 120.B. We thank you for your letter of the 14th inst. We are returning to you today the two front brake assemblies. From the off side we have removed the brake shoes, as our off side shoes were apparently the cause of the violent diving to the right. We are also returning to you the two faulty shoes and although we do not require them to be sent back, we should like to know what you consider was the case of the violent diving when the brakes were warm. With regard to your quotation, we see that in error you have put a price of £8. 8. 0. for a pair of brake shoes. This we presume is the price of the 2 complete brake assemblies if it had been necessary to change every-thing. We are sending you the 2 locks for a key to be fitted, but are not sending you the clock at the moment. In view of your estimate we now require the following parts:- 1. Hand brake spring. 2. Key for lockers. 3. 6 oil gun nipples. 4. a complete rear shackle with pins. 5. 2 bonnet fittings (a) Bonnet to radiator. (b) Bonnet to scuttle. 6. One outer front hub bearing No.1380. We are arranging for a covering order to be sent for these items. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
