We suggest that a note re Chains should be added to the Subframe and the Wing Print, somewhat as follows:-
Where chains will be used only on rare occassions and for short periods we do not recommend that any extra clearances be allowed. If the car has to be used in countries where chains are frequently needed a special print for the clearances will be supplied by R-R Ltd.
In a day or so we shall send to you a slightly modified design for the rear subframe support, which can be easily brought in, and which will make it possible to cut away the top flange of the subframe without leaving a bulge at the fixing mkt. It will consist of moving the bolt in about .250 ins.
We would be glad if HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} would carefully examine our reports and also N.Sch.3003. and make any tests to confirm our prove outherwisee our deductions and suggestions.
It is apparent from what has happened in the case of Phantom II. that in future any change in the chassis which calls for a different wheelarch will have to be thoroughly investigated before we make the coachwork print.

EV. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork}
