1280. Experimental Dept. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std.7/MH. {M. Huckerby} 9th. November 1938. Messrs. John Marston Ltd., WOLVERHAMPTON. For the attention of Mr. Dunn. Dear Sirs, In addition to the Bentley III and 50 radiators which you have made, and are making for us, we need one dummy radiator for a mock-up chassis to be used by Sales for appearance purposes, and would like to know if you will supply us such a radiator. The said radiator will consist of the shell (PD. 249), complete with shutter grille assembly attached to the yoke (EB.3983) with stiffeners (EB.3789) and also wing stay brackets (EB.3782), and lamp brackets supplied by us, but without any matrix top and bottom tanks, etc. It will be necessary to rig up some side arrangement from the yoke to the top of the shell to take the place of the matrix unit in supporting the shell. If you are agreeable to this we will send you an official order for this work, and would like it put in hand as soon as possible. With regard to the Wraith 80 radiator unit which you are making for us, this is now needed rather urgently and we will be glad if you could ring the writer to-morrow and give him an idea as to when we can have it. We believe the necessary R.R. parts have been sent to you. We should be obliged if you would do all you can to urge this matter; we, on our part, are endeavouring to arrange the despatch of the lamp brackets, etc. for the Bentley 50 radiator which is practically completed, with as little delay as possible. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
