1280 Experimental Dept. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std.10/MH. {M. Huckerby} 5th. November 1938. Messrs. John Marston Ltd., WOLVERHAMPTON. For the attention of Mr. Dunn. Dear Sirs, Referring to our letter of the 29th. October and to yours of 3rd. inst., we examined the damaged Bentley III matrix unit as mentioned in our letter and noted that the point at which the matrix was pierced did not coincide in height with the stiffener. Accordingly, it appears useless to alter the vertical position of the yoke front stiffener and shutter stiffener to line up as suggested, and instead we wish to introduce the modification of two small metal tabs on the stiffener exactly as Bentley I. If possible we should like these on the Bentley 50 radiator you are producing, and at any rate, on any future radiators of the Bentley III or Bentley 50 type. We are urging as far as possible, delivery of the outstanding R.R. parts for the radiators you are building. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
