- 2 - (3). Repair Department - Value £52. 12. 0. This only earmarks springs which the Repair Depart- ment are willing to take over as good stock. (4). 114 Front Springs for 25/30 HP. Normal Rating Front Springs. Value £347. These are agreed on all sides to be scrap, except top plates, a ruling which was made by us approximately a year ago (5). 69 Phantom 11 Front Springs, value £341. These are entirely scrap, as we have no possible use for them on the assumption that Repair Department have a sufficient stock of these. Since the obsolete springs under Item (1) and the proposed use of the Phantom 11 rear springs on Item (2) both cover issues which were thoroughly discussed with Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} in the Conferences, I suggest that it is necessary to re-discuss the matter with Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} before coming to a decision, otherwise I am at a loss to under- stand what value I am to put on the rulings made at the Conferences with Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} present. There is one other interesting point, which I think deserves some note, viz. that out of all the springs which are scrap, and which cover quite a number of cars, that Repair Department are only willing to take over the total of 12 springs at a cost of £52. The position is very different BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from what it was a few years ago, when practically every car was having its springs changed. | ||
