I should be glad if you would try and obtain the following information for me :-

(1) The comparative oil consumption of Bentleys with
(a) Aerolite pistons.
(b) Original split skirt pistons.

If no figures are available from our Experimental tests, it would be worth making a comparison on the bed. In the latter case, we would use our latest split skirt piston and Aerolite, and fit both with similar rings.

(2) I should like a report on :-
(a) The test where we started up the engine, ran full throttle and cooled down on the test bed.
(b) Cooled down on the test bed repeatedly.

It will be remembered that we measured cylinder bore wear under these conditions.

(3) I should like a report on the tests in the cold chamber where the engine was repeatedly started up, allowed to idle and cooled down.

(4) I should like any information that is obtainable about the car belonging to the man from Lincolnshire who ran 75,000 miles without a decarb. (Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} will remember the man's name.)

(5) I should like figures from the B.60 unit which ran detonating, and in consequence suffered bad cylinder bore wear. (I should like this measurement to be fairly comprehensive, at least on one bore, so that we can see where this type of wear differs from the ordinary wear.)
