- 2 - Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} (6) I should like measurements of typical cylinder bores from :- (a) A car run in France. (b) " " " England. (c) " " " the London district. if these can be obtained. In each case, the larger the mileage run by the car, the greater interest will the results possess. (7) Any road figures showing how oil consumption is affected by speed. Any similar test bed figures. (8) Some of the figures which were taken by Mr. showing how oil consumption can be affected by :- (a) oil passing inlet valve guides. (b) Oil being sucked into the intake when this is being used as a breather. (9) Typical day-to-day oil consumption figures of cars in France, drawn as a curve to show how the rings bed down. (Such figures were given in reports: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}7/KW.27.3.36. and Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/KW.14.7.36.) (10) Before measuring the bore wear on the two Wraith cars which have done over 50,000 miles, we would like an oil consumption test carrying out by an Experimental driver under our normal oil consumption conditions. (11) We should like definite information to be obtained from the Repair Dept., as to whether Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}'s. car has ever been rebored. (12) We should like records of any old type cars' cylinder bore wear that can be dug up. (13) We would like any wear figures that have by now been obtained, on cylinder irons that can be sandcast.
