R.R. 238 (24 B) (P.P. 957. 30.4.13) E.P. 4142. ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. INSTRUCTIONS. To: Mr Wormald Customer's No. X411 [STAMP: RECEIVED SEP 23] Report on the Timing Gears of Experimental Chassis No 1649. 1) Magneto Pinion has been fouling oil scoop on Timing case. This scoop is a brass channel fitted above magneto pinion, serving the purpose of conducting oil to magneto pinion shaft bearing, collecting oil from slipper wheel. 2) On the face of Cam wheel teeth there is a groove about 3/16 wide 1/32 deep, as though the camwheel had fouled something when running. These marks do not appear to have been done recently. 3) No end play in Camshaft and magneto pinion shaft but quite free. End play in Distributor & Intermediate Wheels OK. Signed This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
