XH11 Re Timing Gears on Chassis 2090 E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} - Withers. Mr Wormald 20-12-12 TBB2/L201212 With reference to the attached matter which was handed to me by Mr Johnson. Mr Johnson informs me that he cannot understand how it is that these timing gears should develop noisy so quickly. He points out that the chassis has not yet actually been delivered to the customer. I told him that in some cases these paper gears were extremely unreliable and would develop noisy in a very short time, particularly if any moisture could find its way to the gears. Mr Johnson did not give me any instructions concerning this matter but expressed the hope that the helical gears would not be delayed in any way. | ||
