RE SEQUENCE STARTER.

Confirming our conversation it is desired to try out with as little delay as possible, on the rig which you are preparing for us, the various combinations of spiral angle, switch, and rubber buffer component scheme, which we set out on sheet dated 9.11.26, copy of which we handed to you. Reference to this sheet will shew that these comprise 34°52' and 20° spiral with pinion operated switch, and the 5° spiral with actuator box operated switch. Further to try also the 20° and 5° spirals with the alternative of the rubber buffer scheme.

In the case of the 20° spiral for which it has not previously been arranged to use the actuator box operated switch, we can obtain the effect of using this in the same way as we have done on chassis 14-EX.

In the case of the 5° spiral the instructions as originally made comprise the use of the actuator box operated switch.

As a result of our expl. tests pm on the car, it is considered that it may now also be desirable to make the experiment which has not previously been instructed tof trying the 34° 52' spiral with pinion operated switch and rubber buffer, and we are asking the D.O. to send you a drawing providing this alternative spiral for use with the rubber buffer scheme.
