Dear Sirs,

Further to our letter of the 8th instant, we are now in a position to give you our comments on the proposed alterations to your Battery Instructions pamphlet. We can agree to the whole of the wording with the exception of the following:-

1. The paragraph which commences at the foot of Page 1 should read as follows:-
"The level of the acid solution should be adjusted periodically by removing the vent plug in the centre of each cell lid{A. J. Lidsey} and adding distilled water to each cell until the level of the solution is approximately 3/8" above the tops of the separators. This process is known as topping-up."

2. On Page 3 we suggest that a figure of 70º F.{Mr Friese} should be given instead of 60º F.{Mr Friese} for the temperature of the sulphuric acid solution.

3. In the column headed "Fully charged specific gravity", we suggest that the figures should be altered as follows:-
Temperate climates 1.270/1.285 instead of 1.280
Tropical " 1.200/1.215 " " 1.210

4. In the column headed "Fully discharged specific gravity" we suggest that the figures should be altered as follows:-
Temperate climates 1.110(approx.) instead of 1.150
