-2- Tropical climates 1.100(approx.) instead of 1.080 5. On Page 5 we suggest the following in connection with the recommended procedure prior to the storing of a battery:- (a) Fully charge the battery. (b) Allow the battery to be discharged through the side and the head lamps for about 5 hours. (c) Remove terminals, clean, re-vaseline and store or despatch these separately. (d) Empty out electrolyte and allow battery to drain. (e) For storage keep in a cool dry place with vent plugs well tightened down. When putting the battery again into commission fill with acid of 1.100 specific gravity and give a full charge. The specific gravity at the end of the charge will be lower than in an ordinary first charge, and should be adjusted accordingly. Yours faithfully, PETO & RADFORD. W. S. Chapman. | ||
