A few days ago, I received from Sales a request for information in regard to the clutch brake we have schemed out for the above chassis, and after our discussion, I asked Sales if this customer had actually asked for the parts to be fitted, or was it just a "reminder". 'H' now informs me that the customer has not raised the point since January, but they are afraid to approach him for fear he asks when we are going to do something about it. I have pointed out to Sales the possibility of getting further requests if we fit the clutch brake in this case, and 'H' will discuss the matter with 'C' on his return from holiday. In the meantime I think it would be advisable to fit the parts to a car if you have one available as we should then know if it is satisfactory. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Saw By 5/8/38 He says Sales inform him the matter was raised from their diary note, and that customer has not complained again. We will therefore leave matter in abeyance as the parts are made but not yet tried on a car. WHR{Mr Wheeler} | ||
