EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT.

We expect within the next 2 or 3 weeks to have got a scheme working which will enable us to publish fortnightly

(1) All work which is being carried out in the Experimental Department.

(2) By whom it was authorised.

(3) Cost of experimental work for the preceding fortnight and reasons given for any increase. (This figure will probably be given monthly to suit accounts).

We hope by this to avoid periodical complaints of increase in experimental cost.

With regard to the experimental work being carried out to Sales instructions - we are at the present time producing a 20 HP. chassis to be run by Sales for 10,000 miles. It was originally intended that this chassis should be a duplicate of 10-G-111 which completed a 10,000 miles test on the 3rd. May 1925. All the new parts on that car which performed satisfactorily have been standardised and agreed to, and the new parts will go on to production as soon as possible. We think it is most probable that the new parts will actually be fitted to the production cars before Sales have completed 10,000 miles. R.{Sir Henry Royce} does not approve of our producing a car for a 10,000 miles test which has only parts fitted to it which have already been tested and standardised. As we have an instruction to produce duplicate cars for Sales of every 10,000 miles test car, we think that R's agreement should be obtained.
