Re Experimental Cars.
--------------------

This is to confirm the instructions of which I asked you to make a note at lunch on Friday, namely, that, before experimental cars or parts of experimental cars are sent to France for the purpose of 10,000 miles' trials or sent to Sales or West WitteringHenry Royce's home town, they should be checked by BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} who will certify thatthey are according to design and specification.

It is lamentable to think of the time which has been lost owing to the fact that the Experimental Department have issued cars parts of which have not been correct as regards design and specification.
