X8040 Mr. Sherton. C.W. C. Sft.{Mr Swift} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY/O/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 3.4.25. PISTONS. Further to my two previous notes on pistons, in which I released the Piston casting, the rings and the gudgeon pin, Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has received information from France that the oil consumption is satisfactory and we can therefore go ahead on the last piston as issued to the Experimental Dept. We should use steel stops for the rings, and not pin either the top or bottom ring. Will you kindly arrange to issue these for "V" and "W" Series. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
