X4607 TRANSLATION. From Messrs. Cozette, Paris. To Messrs. Gallay Radiators, Willesden. 11.10.29. Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter of the 8th October concerning Messrs. Rolls-Royce, we would ask you to let us know the normal and maximum speeds of the engine and also what boost the firm wishes to obtain. We would like to draw your attention to the following points:- It will be necessary to provide for this engine, by reason of its large cylinders, two compressors. If it is desired to supercharge an engine of moderate speed, such as the standard 40/50 horse power, we recommend compressors size 9 or 10, making them to turn faster than the engine. We think that for an engine of this size the supercharge obtainable should be sufficient to give interesting results. As Messrs. Rolls-Royce are very familiar with supercharging problems and engines of high output generally, they will be able to indicate exactly under what supercharge they will desire to operate. Yours faithfully, | ||
