[Typed Text] To Mr. Clarke from Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} U. Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}4/IB11116. November 1st. 1916. Re Lodge Sparking Plugs. On the 11th. of September we passed the Lodge Sparking Plug Co. an order for 3,000 model "K" plugs, fitted with 20/1000ths. annular spark gap, and they have now sent the whole of these in. We wish to know whether a further supply of this model of plug must be ordered. We referred the matter to Mr. Platford, who states that it is one for the Experimental Department to decide. It is important that we have a decision immediately, as otherwise the present supply of sparking plugs will be exhausted before fresh supplies can be got in. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} [Handwritten Notes] 109 Mr. Clarke Lodge plugs certainly no good for requisition but so far no general complaints when in service. R.L.S. Police for overall - & have proved so in service. To continue as above - but only lodge. 15/1000 gap only. - stock small at times as until Expl. Dept. can find correct plug.
