S.S. VALVE TAPPET GUIDE LOCATION.
--------------------------------

As requested in your E4/M12.2.29. we send you herewith print of Sch. 1133 showing what is considered to be a satisfactory arrangement of locating set screws for the tappet guides.

It will be noted that the hole for the set screw is not tapped right through in order to provide a plain hole to act as a pilot for reaming the hole in the tappet guide.

The crankcase is counterbored for the set screw in order to keep the latter clear of the starter motor Dynamo.

Handwritten note:
HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}
Sch 1133 is similar to what we are doing on all Engines.
it should therefore be ok
