-2- (4) It was thought that Smiths, Rotax, C.A.V. were in an unsatisfactory financial position and if we took on any of them just now we might be placed in a bad position if a financial collapse on their side took place. (5) In any case taking on a new firm would mean a lot of spade work getting them used to our ways, and high requirements. (6) The two dynamos from Smiths, on which we have been making our tests, are not just ordinary standard production, but were specially made in the Toolroom, so the inference is that they would be above the standard of ordinary production. (7) It has to be borne in mind that we have at present electrical equipment in our Works from Lucas' that would carry us on at least a year, at our present rate of production, and it would possibly be better policy to try and get Lucas to alter this material to our satisfaction, rather than to cut off Lucas' at once. | ||
