CONTINUATION.

2.

As we are not in the position to carry out experiments on a number of your cars, you might care to consider making some tests with the Car Radio Set already in your possession, to establish the practicability of this alternative method of fixing.

With regard to the question of using a condenser, it is possible that this might assist in difficult cases, but it may be necessary to experiment in order to find out the most suitable part of the chassis for earthing it.

One of the reasons why we recommend placing the Battery Filter close to the battery, is that it can be earthed directly to the earth side of the Battery, thereby eliminating any high impedance paths in the chassis itself.

We believe that a 2 mf. non-inductive condenser would probably be quite as efficient as a 25 mf. electrolytic type, as suggested by yourselves.

If you decide to carry out further tests in this connection we shall naturally be very pleased to hear what success you have.

Regarding the second query in your letter, we do not anticipate that the generous louvred bonnets on the Bentley cars are likely to give much trouble as regards ignition interference, if the rest of the installation is carried out carefully.

Yours faithfully,
PHILIPS LAMPS LIMITED.
