(4) The levers in these models are about 7.5" long. We are working with 13". It would seem that we must get down to 10" and some limit on rebound.

(5) When we made ours we had no thought of 100 to 200 lbs. ball load so especially considering the long lever our square shaft is hopelessly small. Apparently the shaft should be about 1" at the smallest and nearly 1.250 in the largest part.

(6) Really I cannot see anything very clever in the Delco damper, if they had ours to go by and earlier found the troubles (as one would expect), but their construction is strong, heavy, cheap, and crude, and regardless of weight and facilities for repairs.
