Dear Sirs, MR. E.R. HALL'S ROLLS ROYCE ENGINE. On Friday last the 24th inst. we were shown a copy of your drawing No.S.C.D.583 based on E.W.489, and we noted that there were four sheet steel feet shown on the engine. On checking up the engine which we have in our works we found that only the forward feet were actually fitted, the engine resting on the lugs which are attached to the crank case housing in its present packing case. It looks as though another pair of feet will have to be made to go at the aft end, and speaking to Mr. Hall on the telephone this morning he asked us to write you about it. If you have a standard arrangement for these feet we think it would be very much better if you were to supply them as you have already fitted a pair at the forward end which appear to be quite suitable. In addition of course there would be the special length bolts to be substituted for those at present in position, and it would really be better if you were to produce these as well in accordance with your standard limits.
