CHASSIS - HEAT, FRONT FLOOR BOARDS ------------------------------------------------------- A considerable number of complaints have been raised by customers in regard to the above during the present hot weather - this in spite of the shutters in the bonnet being made full use of, which although they agree gives an improvement, is not by any means satisfactory. One customer who telephoned up from Birmingham this morning pointed out that he was about to take off the engine side guards, and also the <strike>scuttle</strike> shield, and try and improve same, but in the meantime the car was so bad that it was impossible for him to use it and he had to use his Ford V.8 car, <handwritten>which was O.K in this respect</handwritten> This customer also points out that all his various friends in Birmingham are complaining similarly. In discussing the point with the Experimental Department, they point out that the only practicable cure for this trouble is the Spinney ventilator. It therefore seems imperative that this point should be considered as soon as ever possible, even to the extent, if necessary, of recommending this being fixed on existing cars on which this complaint is prevalent.
