We have found that certain modifications to the Air Silencer Carburetter are necessary in order to get the same power performance as the Standard carburetter. We should therefore like a scheme prepared embodying the necessary modifications as this type carburetter has certain advantages of which we should like to make use on the car. The required modifications are:- (1) Alter spray chamber so that it will receive a Std. Phantom ll suction chamber. Also arrange that the gallery round the air ports in suction chamber has a radial width of not less than .500". (2) Delete innermost tube of the air silencer and alter the size of the two remaining smaller tubes so that the cross sectional area of the then innermost tube is equal to that of the annular spaces between adjacent pairs. (3) Alter holes in end pieces of silencer (E.79577/8) to suit the new tubes. (4) Increase the area of all the air holes in silencer tubes by 50%. (5) Employ a Std. Air piston complete, high speed choke and diaphragm. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ACL. | ||
