R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hv. X7635 EFC2/T22.3.29. SEQUENCE STARTER. X7625 Further to our EFC1/T20.3.29. it was our intention therein to refer to the question of parallel teeth versus slightly spiral teeth ( 5º or 10º ). Now that we have the longitudinal damper it is suggested that an experimental comparison should be made between an up-to-date system (as now instructed for production) and a similar system with slightly spiral teeth. We think it is now a case where we cannot very certainly predict comparative performance, but that there may be advantages in a 5º or 10º spiral. EFC. | ||
