re. PETROL FILTERS. X3701 X8190 X8080

The monel metal gauze of 160 mesh is probably the best we can use. I have also instructed this to be used in the carburetter filter, because I assume that if dirty petrol gets to this filter, it should be stopped and not allowed to get to the jets. It would be better for this filter to stop up occasionally than to have constant trouble with the jets, which would be much more often with the same amount of dirt passing.

There seems no reason why with filters so arranged, our 20HP. and EAC. should not give the good results we have had in the past, unless something is happening differently owing to the use of the vacuum feed. This we expect you will watch.

The carburetter filters are correctly made small as at this point there should be nothing for the filter to take out, but it is a useful check on the other filter, and the system.
